TIMINGS:
Applications for visa are accepted at the counter between 09:00 AM and 11:30 AM (Monday to Friday) except holidays.

Processing Time:
If the application is complete in all respects with all required documents attached, the visa is granted the same day between 4.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.. This time schedule does not apply to services where prior approval is required from authorities in India, or other Indian embassies for non-Indonesian applicants.

Emergency issue of Visa :
In case visa is applied for on weekends and holidays or beyond normal working hours, an emergency charge of Rp.413.000,- is levied for issue of visa on the same day. Emergency Services are granted on Saturdays and National Holidays in case of a genuine emergency like death or illness of a blood relation, subject to production of proof and confirmed air ticket. The applicants may wish to enquire from the concerned officer about arrangements for such emergency service. The decision of the consular officer in this matter shall be final.

Following documents are required to be submitted for all categories of visa:

  1. (Visa application Form) : Kindly use a pen/ball pen only to fill up the visa application form legibly and clearly, in bold (capital) letters. Please make sure that all the columns of the visa application form are filled in. Incomplete and illegible applications may not be processed.
  2. Passport, it should have a minimum validity of six months.
  3. Photographs ; 2 latest passport size photographs (black/white or color) depicting front pose against light background are required One of them should be pasted in the specified place and the other may be stapled with the application form.
  4. Supporting documents:- The visa application should be accompanied with supporting documents for type of visa applied for. The details are given below :-
  1. TOURIST VISA: It is issued for the purpose of sight seeing and family visit. The application for the same should be accompanied by the following documents :
    1. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.
    2. Statement of the bank account of the applicant in original
    3. Confirmation of Hotel booking at the place of intended visit in India.
    4. Or letter of invitation/sponsorship from India
  2. TRANSIT VISA: It is valid for single/double entry for a maximum stay of 15 days and issued for bona fide transit purpose only. A copy of the airline ticket needs to be enclosed.
  3. BUSINESS VISA: It is issue for the purpose of transaction/negotiation of business deals, intra-company meetings/seminars and participation in a trade exhibition etc. The following documents should be attached with the application for Business visa :
    1. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.
    2. Letter of request/guarantee fro the company in Indonesia
    3. Letter of invitation from the company in India.
  4. EMPLOYMENT VISA: This type of visa issued in order to enable the applicant work in India on remuneration basis. The following documents are required for processing the request for this visa:
    1. Appointment letter, specifying the terms and conditions of employment, from the prospective employer in India.
    2. Recommendation letter from the present employer in Indonesia.
    3. Bio-data/resume of the applicant.
    4. Certificate of registration of the Indian employer in India
    5. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.
  5. STUDENT VISA : It is issued to bona fide students to pursue regular studies at recognized institutions in India. The documents necessary for processing this visa are:
    1. A letter confirming admission from the educational institute in India
    2. Evidence of financial arrangements for stay in India.
    3. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.
    4. In case of admission in medical or paramedical courses in India, a letter of Approval or No objection certificate from the Ministry of Health, Government of India, is also required. Similarly, for admission to graduate or post-graduate courses in engineering/ technical institutions in India, a letter of approval or a No objection certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education) is required.
  6. RESEARCH VISA : Approval of Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education), New Delhi, should accompany the visa application. The validity of the visa would coincide with the research period.
  7. JOURNALIST VISA : Journalist visa is issued to professional journalists and photographers. The documents required are as under :
    1. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.
    2. Recommendation letter from the employer.
    3. Letter from the Indian office of the employer of his associate in India.
  8. CONFERENCE VISA : This type of visa is issued for the participation in international conferences being organized in India. The application for this visa should be accompanied by the following documents :  
    1. A letter of invitation from the Indian organizer of the conference.
    2. A letter of recommendation from the institution in Indonesia wit whom the applicant is affiliated.
    3. Confirmed return ticket or print out of the confirmed to and fro journey.

Note: All persons of Indian origin who have acquired Indonesian citizenship are advised to surrender their Indian passports to the nearest Indian mission for cancellation and return. The cancelled Indian passports will be needed at the time of applying for PIO cards.

Non-Indonesian Citizens: Additional requirements

  1. Applicants who are not citizens of Indonesia should submit a copy of their KITAS/KIMAS/DINAS.
  2. Applicants who are not citizens/ residents of the Indonesia and hold a tourist or other short-term visa for Indonesia should normally apply for Indian visas in the countries of their permanent residence. In case of emergency or special circumstance, an application could be made at this Embassy. In addition to the relevant visa fee they should remit an additional Rp.236,000 for reference to be made to the country of their original residence. The processing time in such cases is usually 4-5 working days.
